The ABONO food waste separation system for solid and liquid fractions includes a food waste shredder for unsorted MSW in bags and sacks, and a screw press for separating food waste into liquid and solid fractions, as well as organic matter contained in MSW (municipal solid waste and food waste).

This system combines an industrial shredder and a dewatering screw press.

A versatile design for combining shredding and separation of solid and liquid phases in a single step for subsequent processing, rendering harmless, and disposal. The ABONO shredder and screw press can be used for composting solid and liquid organic waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impacts. It can also be used for energy recovery, converting waste into heat and electricity, and producing solid fuels (RDF/SRF). Following the principles of a circular economy, composting waste into environmentally friendly products and recycling them back into circulation.

In accordance with BAT (Best Available Technologies) adopted for implementation in most developed countries, composting biodegradable organic waste is one of the least expensive technologies, known worldwide for over 2,000 years and actively implemented in Russia since 2009 at dozens of major facilities for processing, rendering harmless, and ultimately disposing of liquid, semi-liquid, solid, and dry biogenic and food waste. The weight and volume of waste after processing are significantly reduced, reducing transportation costs.

For kitchen waste and other liquid waste, we offer an automatic waste loading system with a protective lid to prevent waste from splashing during shredding.

For large volume processing, we use multiple dewatering screw presses arranged in parallel. Each screw press can be controlled individually without interference. They can operate simultaneously to increase throughput and reduce energy consumption. Alternatively, we can operate just one or two screw presses when the amount of waste to be processed is small and you require a lower throughput food waste separation system.
