The resulting compost is a valuable fertilizer for increasing soil yields and for land reclamation. When composting highly contaminated municipal waste, the resulting compost significantly reduces the volume of municipal waste, but is often unsuitable for agriculture and is used for land reclamation and landfills.
The tracked design of the compost turner gives it greater traction than a wheeled turner, resulting in reduced fuel consumption when using an engine of the same power as a wheeled turner.
